Who We Are

Rooted in Obedience - Service Dog & Obedience Training provides personalized dog training sessions with a LIMA-informed balanced approach. I prioritize positive reinforcement with a clear understanding of working with training tools to build trust and lasting results. Whether you're working on basic obedience, behavioral challenges, or service dog training, I can tailor each training session to fit you or your dog’s unique needs. I specialize in psychiatric and medical alert assistance dogs, focusing on real-life reliability and a strong bond between dog, owner, and trainer.

Our Services

Rooted in Obedience offers training sessions and the knowledge to cover a wide range of dog training. This includes basic and advanced obedience, behavior modification, puppy training,

service dog support and service dog training. Each program is tailored to address the specific challenges and needs of our clients to enhance the bond between dogs, their owners, and their trainer.

Service Dog Training

Service Dog In-Training and Service Dog Training Support

Rooted in Obedience specializes in training service dogs, including psychiatric, mobility, and medical alert service work. What sets me apart from service dog training programs or other trainers is my knowledge of dog behavior, deep understanding of the daily struggles of disability, and my emphasis on prioritizing the needs of my service dog teams. The goal is to ensure that both the dogs and their handlers can navigate the world as a proper team with confidence and ease. This service is offered through two avenues, Service Dogs In-Training (10 weeks - 2 years) and Service Dog Training Support (2 years+).

Consultations

Book your First Consultation!

Consultations are scheduled in-home or are similar to a daily walk. All first-time meetings are with the owner and the dog present to assess both your needs as the owner and the dog's behavior in a comfortable space. These consultations are the first step towards creating a customized training plan that works for everyone!

Basic and Advanced Obedience

Sit, Down, Stay!

Our dedication to obedience training is what creates that well-trained dog and the strong bond between owner and dog that people desire. I prioritize the dog's engagement and desire to learn, then we can begin the basics! The Basic Obedience service is offered to dogs of all ages! Advanced Obedience can be determined after our first consultation.

Behavioral Solutions

Ensuring Understanding and Long Lasting Results

At the core of my mission is a focus on lasting results and committed training. A part of how I achieve this is by re-imagining the goals of our training sessions and using positive language while working with your dog. I do not desire to make a "behavioral modification" to your dog, but rather, I want to offer behavioral solutions to both you and your pet.

"Jordan successfully completed 180 hours of work, training, research, and meetings. Jordan shows a great understanding of dog training and client-trainer relationship skills. At the start of her apprenticeship, she was significantly more timid to speak out about things she was seeing or to ask questions during client meetings, but over time, she has grown in confidence and has been able to ask and answer questions during training sessions easily. She has been dedicated to learning from me and learning on her own. She has taken my feedback with grace and implemented it smoothly into her training and interactions with clients. I was happy to have Jordan as an apprentice, and I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors."
